Percy meets Essek's gaze, eyebrows drawn together as the warning shifts to worry. He doesn't have a good answer, or a good counterargument, but he does have a great deal of anxiety. He has spent the better part of his life now worried them some dark think inside him will hurt the people he loves. It nearly did once. Perhaps more than once.

He knows what his husband is capable of, and yet that doesn't assuage his fears. Percy wraps his arms around Essek, pulling him against his chest. Essek is right, whether Percival is ready to admit it out loud or not. There is as much danger in leaving him alone in rut as there is in being together. The difference is that more people could be in peril with the former. His shoulders slump with what might be defeat, or possibly relief, and he bows his head to bury his face against Essek's neck for a moment. He breathes deep his husband's scent and tries to settle himself.

The decision is made. It would be foolish to try to keep Essek from finding him - especially now that the wizard has a much better sense of where Percy spends his time as a wolf. His hands run up Essek's back, then down again.

"Promise you will get away from me if you think there is even a chance--" Percival can't quite make himself finish the thought. "Just promise, please."
