That very ambition and determination is part of what Essek so loves and admires about his husband. It had drawn him in from the beginning, and to have it focused on him is a heady thing. He smiles to himself, preening a little with the praise and attention, and pushes his fingers deeper into Percy's hair, scraping with more pressure before he allows them to slip away entirely.

"Come here," he says, and pats the bed beside him. "As good as you look down there, I want to hold you."

Essek is thinking similarly. There is no telling how long these lulls will last, and Percival should take advantage of the opportunity to regain his strength--and stamina. The only thing that is certain is that Essek will need him again, and he doesn't wish to wear his poor mate down.

Percy tips his head down to press a parting kiss to Essek's hip, then slowly climbs back up the bed. He draws his husband into his arms and into a kiss. The scent of his mate is still intoxicating and he wants to bury his face against Essek's neck.

"Wake me when you need me, darling" he murmurs, allowing himself to feel tired. Changing back from a wolf always takes it out of him, and going straight from that to Whitestone and a mate still in heat... Can anyone blame him? Percy shifts so that he can drag a blanket over them, determined to keep Essek warm.
